DZU-KIN

DZU-KIN

$650.00

Embroidery in Japan reached its full expression in theatrical Noh textiles, which echoed the garments of the samurai elite using nuihaku — a technique combining embroidery with gold and silver, and karaori — a woven brocade of polychrome patterns. Named for a traditional headdress, Dzu-Kin was inspired by elaborate silk weaves made with metal weft threads. Embroidered by hand, its gilt pattern evokes amulets and charms worn for good fortune.
