THE STORY

We started with a simple vision of an iconic, storied duo – a man and his dog, darting off to traverse the globe and seek adventure. It’s one that charms us. We believe that it holds a bit of magic.

From the fringes of that tale, we imagine designs that are not only complex and beautiful, but also engage with a deeper, layered narrative. Our work is informed by history and myth, folklore and fable – a catalyst which informs all that we do.

THE FOUNDER

Zak Profera founded ZAK+FOX in 2012 after studying conceptual art at the San Francisco Art Institute. From the beginning Zak’s work has been driven by the notion that the greatest ideas can come from the most unlikely places. His relentlessly curious nature has forged him a reputation for creating an aesthetic that is classic, contemporary and ever shifting.

OUR WORK

We know we can’t take on this journey alone and our collaborative partners are critical to our success. Along the way, we’ve formed a close circle of the world’s best printers, weavers, artistans and craftspeople – from the US, Italy and beyond. Our capabilities range from large-scale production suited for hospitality projects to individually handmade, handwoven and bespoke creations for private residences. We’ve amassed the ability to achieve anything imaginable.

THE SHOWROOM

Our New York studio and showroom is a hidden destination in a historic building, a space where all of our stories begin. It is an immersive exhibit for designers and their clients to converge and discover – a showcase for our textile and wallpaper collections and a resource for eclectic vintage finds.
